During 2015, Midtown Alliance’s calendar was packed full of special events of all kinds, in all seasons, that brought our community together to meet each other, share ideas and feedback on Midtown’s future.
Here’s a look back at the signature events we organized and supported throughout the year.
Keynote speaker Jeff Speck, author of Walkable City, discussed the importance of walkability in the way people experience Midtown, and how to preserve it.
A panel of leaders in the Tech Square innovation ecosystem got together for a special event to discuss what’s important for innovation to flourish in Midtown, and how to get there.
Midtown Alliance partnered with the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition for its Atlanta Streets Alive open streets event, turning Peachtree Street in Midtown and Downtown Atlanta for one Sunday afternoon into a car-free place for people to walk, bike, and play in the streets.
What makes a community? That was the question posed to attendees at Midtown Alliance’s “Let’s Talk Midtown” event, held at the historic Georgian Terrace Hotel. Guests learned about new initiatives in the works from Midtown Alliance, from capital projects and urban planning to transportation and public safety, and asked questions in a town hall setting about key issues for Midtown.
